Golf Course Update

Today, we will be topdressing greens to help drainage and smooth the surface. We will also be preparing some areas in the rough for some sod that were damaged due to cart traffic .

I have had many people ask me when are we going to aerify greens. I will not be aeifying any greens aggressively until AFTER Member -Member Tournament. That means we will get started some time after September 23rd. I will aerify tees in the next couple of weeks. I plan to aerify fairways in the first week of October.

Golf Course Update (Groundhog Day Version)

Another day without rain. That has been the story for the last 2 weeks. We have been working hard to keep the course with just enough water to keep the plants alive and still be firm and fast. You will also notice that we are no longer mowing the intermediate cut around fairways. With the planned addition of 3 to 4 acres of fairway, it was deemed unnecessary to keep it. With the help of architects Brian and Blake, we are now seeing what the new bunkers look like. This one is on 10 green right side. They will not have the fescue "eyebrow" we have had in the past. For more updates, please follow me @BrendanJByrne01 on Twitter.
