Golf Course Update

More rain. It feels like I have been writing that same description of the weather in most of the updates this summer! Yesterday, Llanerch received  another 2 inches of rain. The bunkers are going to take a couple days to be fixed from all the water damage. I glad to report that after close to ten years from when they were originally rebuilt, they still completely drain out!  As some of you might not know, the bunkers also have a protective fabric that was installed all along the surfaces of the bunkers when they were rebuilt. The fabric reduces how much sand is washed and keep the soil base from mixing with the white sand. On a day like this, it continues to remind me how well these bunkers were constructed by our contractors. On another note, carts are allowed started at 8:00am today.

Golf Course Update (Groundhog Day Version)

Another day without rain. That has been the story for the last 2 weeks. We have been working hard to keep the course with just enough water to keep the plants alive and still be firm and fast. You will also notice that we are no longer mowing the intermediate cut around fairways. With the planned addition of 3 to 4 acres of fairway, it was deemed unnecessary to keep it. If you have any questions regarding the renovation, please feel free to contact me at your convenience. Thank you and see you on the course!
With the help of architects Brian and Blake, we are now seeing what the new bunkers look like. This one is on 10 green right side. They will not have the fescue "eyebrow" we have had in the past. For more updates, please follow me @BrendanJByrne01 on Twitter.
