A New Way Forward

Welcome to the Llanerch Golf Course and Grounds blog! As most of you know, my name is Brendan Byrne and I am your Golf Course Superintendent and COO of External Activities. After years of trying to find better ways to communicate with the Membership, I thought it was time to post a blog that will provide even more information regarding the golf course and external activities. My plan is to use this forum to answer questions, update conditions on the golf course and detail upcoming projects. I hope you will enjoy the blog. This is my first time blogging so there will be some "hiccups" in the beginning but I hope that some day it will be something that all the Members will find informative.

Sod, Sod, Sod

Starting yesterday, the construction crew began sodding the 18th green complex. They have installed bentgrass for the fairway extensions, low cut bluegrass for the intermediate cut and turf type tall fescue for the rough. They also installed some fine fescue on the bunker edges. We plan to finish sodding by tonight but might need to purchase a small quantity more next week to fix some construction wounds.
With the help of architects Brian and Blake, we are now seeing what the new bunkers look like. This one is on 10 green right side. They will not have the fescue "eyebrow" we have had in the past. For more updates, please follow me @BrendanJByrne01 on Twitter.
