Golf Course Update

The tropical storm that came a few weeks ago created some disease damage to the rough. We have used the last 14 days to slit seed the rough with tall fescue and bluegrass seed. Some of the seed has germinated and we are hoping to see more germination with in the next few weeks. You will also notice that we are using divot mix in the rough on a few hole to "jump start" the seed. As for #9, I am meeting with the golf course architect Stephen Kay today to review the progress of the project. We have to bring in and shape roughly 30 more tri-axles of soil to get the shape that Mr. Kay has designed.

Restoration Update

Today marks the beginning of mobilization of equipment on # 8 for the upcoming restoration. Our golf course contractor is Total Turf and with golf course architect Brian Schneider from Renaissance Golf, they will be teaming up to open a new chapter in Llanerch's storied history. You can also follow the progress on Twitter @BrendanJByrne01.
With the help of architects Brian and Blake, we are now seeing what the new bunkers look like. This one is on 10 green right side. They will not have the fescue "eyebrow" we have had in the past. For more updates, please follow me @BrendanJByrne01 on Twitter.

Golf Course Update (Groundhog Day Version)

Another day without rain. That has been the story for the last 2 weeks. We have been working hard to keep the course with just enough water to keep the plants alive and still be firm and fast. You will also notice that we are no longer mowing the intermediate cut around fairways. With the planned addition of 3 to 4 acres of fairway, it was deemed unnecessary to keep it. If you have any questions regarding the renovation, please feel free to contact me at your convenience. Thank you and see you on the course!
