Irrigation

In today's post, the blog has a picture of the staff trenching #11 rough to add irrigation. This trenching skid-loader cuts roughly 18 inches deep into the ground. We then connect PVC pipe to the existing water service. After connecting communication wire and the actual irrigation sprinkler, all we need to do is add water into the pipe. We will then fill the trench and sod and seed the area. We plan to turn on the water for the entire irrigation system in about 2 weeks.

Golf Course Update

Windy days has produce some minor clean up that we are performing on the golf course today. We will be transition to adding irrigation to the area between 11 tee and 13 green in the rough later this week. The area has always been a very dry spot and the addition of some irrigation heads should go a long way to improving the grass' density. We also pulled up the greens cover on 9 green and were pleasantly surprised at the amount of growth on the putting surface. We will be removing the cover within the next few weeks to begin preparing it for play in the spring.

Trees and Snow

Yesterday, we were open for golf. Mother Nature closed it back down today. We got about 1 and half inches of snow. The course is completely cover but it should melt quickly over the next few days. Yesterday, we were also able to have Aradar Tree Service continue the process of removing damaged trees along Route 1. We plan to do more tree work in the upcoming season.

Golf Course Update

The cold weather has made it's return! The past week has been nothing short of frigid! The ground that was wet and soft just ten days ago is now frozen rock solid. We still have patches of ice and snow in some areas. The crew spent their time finishing trimming trees along 5 fence line, behind 5 green and around the surrounds of 3 green. We will move indoors to clean, service and prepare the turf equipment for the upcoming season until the rain/snow passes. Next week we are starting to trench in some new irrigation throughout the course in perennially dry areas. I will be updating our progress next week.
